Lets talk size, seriously.

Nicky Harris, January 7, 2010

The new edition of V magazine has a really well crafted ’big girl’ fashion photo shoot. The 0 Size debate of the past couple of years and all the very serious argument that it threw up is far from over. Have we swung the other way? I think not. The very fact that this photo shoot features bigger girls, who look great (in context) just means that the size debate is still news worthy. But what is the question? Do we want to see big models, thin models or what about plain ordinary sized models. I call this ‘The three Bears’. You know one bowl was too hot and one was too cold but one bowl was just right!

I don’t want to see sick looking anorexic models with clothes hanging off them. I don’t want to see only overweight girls either, what I do want are aesthetically pleasing models who show off the clothes beautifully. Lets get real here…..

  1. I am OVER seeing half dead models. Although I would be FAR from the size zero, I would like to see normal sized bodies modelling clothes. Not wobbly heifers, and neither do I want to see skeletal teeny tiny woman. Bring back the days of Marilyn Monroe and the women of her time. Sofia Loren etc etc. All beautiful curvy and full of sex appeal woman. Curves were elaborated and accentuated. And Celebrated!!
