Each year Brown Thomas does their bit for charity and in particular Breast Cancer Awareness and research. This year is no exception and today 19-year-old Georgia May Jagger, darling model daughter of Jerry Hall and Mick Jagger was in town to launch the ‘It’ charity bag for this Summer. A tote designed by Marc Jacobs which goes on sale in Brown Thomas tomorrow at 9 am and selling for €35, this is a must have for all those who love a designer bargain and want to do their bit for Action Breast Cancer and the Europa Donna Ireland charities.
I have spent the last few days taking part in the September Masterclass, style events taking place in all Brown Thomas stores. Hence the lack of blogs as I drove to various parts of the country and talked Hosiery trends on behalf of Falke to any one who was prepared to listen. In Galway and Limerick I interjected as models paraded up and down the fashion floor showing the latest fa from D&G, DVF, Armani and Marc by Marc Jacobs. I managed to double job by whipping out the camera while perplexed customers looked on, the results of which are below. The staff in each of the stores are without a doubt some of the most professional and passionate shop assistants, lovers of all things fashion who delighted in telling me exactly what their favorite pieces were and what they thought of this seasons trends.

I just love the packaging that Marc Jacobs uses in his new fragrance for Men called ‘Bang’. This is the interview where he introduces this new scent for men. When did Men’s ‘After Shave’ become a fragrance? Just wondering….

Marc Jacobs presented an altogether more gentle collection in New York last week for Autumn Winter 2010. With Period references from the 20′s, 30′s, 40′s and beyond it seems that Marc Jacobs has succeeded in shunning the fast moving modernity and has managed to produce clothes that are flattering. Skirt were calf length and there was little flesh on show. Demure and in a neutral palette he referenced previous garments from his archive changing them slightly. A collection, very wearable which looks back yet is forward in it’s feminine yet strong appeal. A small yet modern twist were the ankle stirrup socks worn over the shoes and ankle boots.
It’s been a really busy day in the showroom. Ript Fusion arrived in, the samples look great. Ript is the latest shapewear for men in the form of a cool T-shirt which comes in black and white and is offered in round and V neck. It follows the Yummie Tummie shapewear tops for women which are currently selling like hot cakes around the world. It will be interesting to see if Irish men love their love handles or not???
